We don’t have to carry a tune to get the benefits of humming. Humming is any sound you make while keeping your lips closed.

If you are a care partner, try humming with the one you care for. Sometimes, those with advanced dementia are prone to groaning. Groaning is a form of humming! Our loved ones may intuitively know how to self-soothe!
